Rise of the Resistance

Written by: James Williams

As we continue to get used to our "current normal", as I like to call it, at Walt Disney World there are still some questions about Rise of the Resistance.  Rise of the Resistance(RotR) is found at Disney's Hollywood Studio's in Galaxy's Edge.  If you have not experienced the virtual queue, or boarding pass, for RotR then this is a must read!

Boarding Passes are not automatically given, you must be in the park in order to get your pass.  The first thing you need to make sure to have is the My Disney Experience(MDE) app on your phone.    This is the only way to secure a Boarding Pass.  Disney's Hollywood Studios is currently opening at 10:00 am, so you will want to make sure you are in the park before this time!  Everyone in your party must have already scanned their ticket and entered the park, this is a very important thing to remember as MDE will not let you select family/friends linked to your account without them in the park.  Once you have been admitted to the park, have your MDE app ready to go for 10:00.
You will want to scroll on the home page of MDE until you see the image above.  This is where you will start your journey.  At 10:00 am you will need to click "Join", select your party, and "get Boarding Pass."

Hopefully you were successful in getting your Boarding Pass for RotR! You will also be able to return to the same location and click "Check Status" where you will see your Boarding Group as well as the current groups boarding.

Please be sure to have your notifications turned on! When they call your Boarding Group, you will receive a notification on your phone and you will then have one hour to check in!! Get ready for the most immersive experience of your life!

If you are not successful at the 10:00 am time slot to join, it's okay!  To help promote social distancing, Disney is allowing a 2:00 pm slot to try to get a Boarding Pass as well! With that said, PLEASE do not rely solely on the later time slot, it is always best to be there before 10:00 am to better your chances!

If you are staying at any of the Skyliner Resorts, take advantage of that transportation! You will get to the park much quicker than even driving your own car!

Rider Switch

Written by: James Williams     Unfortunately, there are times that a guest may not be able to or want to ride a ride while others in the group do.  That's no problem because Disney has put in the "Rider Switch System" to make it easier for everyone to do the attractions they want.        Rider Switch is such a great tool if you have guests that may be too short, or maybe the ride is just a little too intimidating for them.  Please keep in mind that height requirements are put into place for the safety of the guest! If you are looking for a list of these requirements, check out our  Height Requirement  article. If a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, no problem! With Rider Switch, one adult can wait with the non-rider (or riders) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the wait...
